Hi, there! It’s been a few weeks since my last post. I didn’t intend to drop off the face of the blogging planet for that long. I’ll fill you in on what’s been going on soon (all really great things!), but for now, these No-Bake Chocolate Easter Nests will have to do.
I bet you hardly realized I was away.
I mean chocolate and jelly beans are enough to make a person focus on the here and now, right?
Works for me every time.
Since it’s Easter week, I thought I would share a holiday treat that my mom would make for my sister and me. When I see and taste these nests, I’m always reminded of my childhood.
It’s funny how food does that, isn’t it? Helps you hang on to those great memories.
The ingredients are simple, and the combination is oh-so-addictive. Trust. Milk and German sweet chocolate, corn flakes, shredded coconut, and jelly beans.
Speaking of jelly beans! Did you notice I used Starburst jelly beans. They’re an Easter must. Who else is with me?
These chocolate-y, crunchy goodies are so easy to make. For you non-bakers out there, they’re no-bake. Easy! Just melt the chocolate, throw in the corn flakes and coconut, and give it a good stir until everything’s coated. Then make the nests. This involves dropping tablespoonfuls of the mixture onto waxed paper and filling the mounds with jelly beans. You can do it! I just know it.
This version of the Easter nest is one of two that I love. Check back later this week for the other one. It’s pretty much amazing, too. I can’t get enough of them both.
Oh, Easter candy and holiday cuteness. It’s a good thing I’m training for a half-marathon. I think I’d turn into a chocolate egg if I wasn’t. Wouldn’t that be something?
